Local, Healthy Food
Not all food is equal. If Joel Salatin’s explanation of a pasture egg vs. a store-bought egg teaches us anything, it’s that where your food comes from and how it is raised completely changes what you get out of it.
100% Grass Finished Lamb
“Grass Fed” doesn’t mean anything if the lambs are taken to a CAFO (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation) and fed lots of corn and soy. Our lamb forages in Middle Eden for their entire life. They are never given antibiotics or corn/soy. We have also added a mineral buffet for them to decide what minerals they need based on what their hay/land is lacking. We typically sell lamb in the late fall. If you are interested in being put on our list for lamb, please contact us.
Pick Your Own Blackberries
Our blackberries are never sprayed, always pure. We love cobblers, frozen berries for smoothies, or just snacking on fresh blackberries in the sun. We are hoping to open a very limited pick-your-own this year and expanding as our berries grow. Blackberry season is typically mid-July. Please join our newsletter if you would like to get the details.
The Blessed Bee Company
Blessed Bee Honey Company is an Illinois based beekeeping company. The Shire hosts some of their bee hives. This demonstrates their commitment to pure honey. Sprays are never used at Middle Eden and our agroforestry system is the perfect environment for bees to thrive.
The Blessed Bee’s pure, raw Midwestern honey is created from the elements of prairie lands. Lush native flowers, farmland sunshine, gentle showers, and rainbows all contribute to their unique taste. Contact us to purchase their honey, raised right in Middle Eden or click here to see more info on what they provide and where you can purchase these great products.
Camp in Middle Eden
Camp in a beautiful, 16 acre permaculture paradise, surrounded by oaks, pecans, apples, hazelnuts, mulberry, and black/honey locust. We have an established campfire area with free firewood. It’s a short 500 foot walk from parking to the campfire area and diverse tenting locations. Our RV area is closer to the road, but there is no turn around for RVs. They must be backed in.
